Weaver

Changing the weave

Do you keep finding yourself in the same patterns, even when you're trying to create something different?

You have shown again and again that you are willing to leave behind what isn't working for you. You have the courage to let go of what is harmful or unfulfilling, begin again, and keep reaching for something that feels more aligned with who you are.

The Energy

We can become so focused on creating something new that we assume we need different ingredients: different people, different circumstances, different ideas, perhaps even a different version of ourselves.

Weaver reminds us that creation can happen by changing the relationships between what is already here.

Weaver works with energy, allowing familiar threads to cross in unfamiliar ways. Something old can enter a renewed relationship. Things previously kept apart can meet. A familiar part of ourselves can participate differently. Each change in relationship alters the pattern and creates new possibilities for how energy can move.

Sometimes we don't need different threads. We need to change the weave.

The Invitation

Sometimes we try to create change by leaving or discarding what is already there. We change jobs, relationships, friendships, places or circumstances, only to find ourselves encountering a strangely familiar pattern somewhere new.

Changing the threads can change the pattern. But if we carry the same energy into the new weave, we may recreate the very pattern we were trying to leave.

Weaver asks us to become curious about the energy we bring into relationship. How are you meeting what is here? What role do you repeatedly take? What might happen if you brought a different energy into the encounter?

This does not mean that we should stay where we need to leave. We can leave. We can stay. We can begin again.

But if we want a different pattern, something in the weaving must change.

As we create new relationships with ourselves, each other and the world around us, those relationships begin creating new possibilities in return.

We shape the weave, and the weave begins to reshape us.

A Way Through

Choose one familiar pattern that keeps appearing in your life.

Instead of focusing only on what you could replace, remove or escape, notice the energy with which you are participating in the pattern.

What happens if you change one movement within the weave? Respond differently. Bring together something usually kept apart. Meet something familiar in a new way. Introduce an energy that has been missing.

You don't have to know what the finished pattern will look like. Change the weaving and discover what becomes possible.
