Night Sea

Surrendering the known

Are you playing it so safe that you're missing new possibilities, invitations and adventures?

You have worked hard to become good at what you do. You have built real skills, learned how things work, and know how to navigate the world you are familiar with. You are capable and experienced.

The Energy

There is a particular kind of safety in staying with what we already understand. Familiar relationships, places, work, ideas and ways of living allow us to know the rules and predict what might happen next.

Knowing can make us feel powerful. Understanding can help us navigate with practised ease.

But too much of this kind of safety can shrink our world, our energy, and the possibilities of becoming that are waiting for us in the Night Sea.

Night Sea calls us towards new horizons and versions of ourselves we have not yet mastered. It invites us to explore new depths and adventure into unfamiliar territory.

In the darkness, different things become visible. Constellations appear when familiar light recedes. Bioluminescence glows in waters that daylight overwhelms.

Night Sea reminds us that the unknown is not empty. Sometimes we need to let go of familiar ways of seeing before we can discover what else there is that might fulfil us.

The Invitation

You don't have to abandon everything familiar or throw yourself recklessly into the unknown.

Night Sea simply asks where knowing, certainty and mastery may have become the boundaries of your world.

What might happen if you chose something because it called you towards discovery, rather than because you already knew how to navigate it?

Let yourself be a beginner. Enter a conversation you don't know how to have. Explore a place, relationship, idea or experience that asks something unfamiliar of you.

You don't have to know who you will be there.

A Way Through

Notice where you keep choosing what you already understand because you know how to succeed, belong or feel in control there.

Then look towards the unfamiliar horizon.

What might become visible if you were willing to enter a world you don't yet know how to understand?
